PROCESS
The project was a poster promoting a fictional solo show for ourselves - essentially, the prompt was to create a piece that represented the soul of our work and ourselves. So I chose to show myself dorking around in nature. Naturally.
I wanted to incorporate a winter scene as I haven't been able to explore that kind of landscape in a while (both in my art and in real life). Aspens or birch were a must.
I wanted to incorporate as much color as I could into the scene, so I decided to go with a sunrise. Watching the sun rise is also a favorite of mine, as I am one of those insufferable morning people.
Getting closer to the final, adding those sweet, sweet textures.
After a very helpful critique, I thinned out the red undergrowth and added more chaos to the trees. I also changed the date from the middle of summer to the middle of winter.
